Warning Before He Comes – Get Your House in Order

“Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.” Matthew 7: 15.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths. 2 Timothy 4: 3-4.

Dear Readers,

I have been a Christian for over 36 years. I was saved in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, UK, in a free evangelical church. I went from there to Leek in Staffordshire, to an old Baptist Union church. I believe that in those formative years as a Christian I received the finest teaching from the word of God that a young Christian could ever receive. I was grounded in the word of God for my first seven years as a Christian. But there was a problem. I did not know about the gifts of the Holy Spirit. I became very legalistic and sadly I was a hypocrite. I was, as CS Lewis once said, a Sunday angel but a Monday devil. I faced many conflicts in those years as I wanted to serve the Lord with all my heart but I could not. My pastor, who was a very godly man, when he baptised me gave me these verses:

Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Hebrews 12: 1-3.

What a wise man. He saw this tramp that came off the street. He brought me to the foot of the cross by using a wonderful little book, John Bunyan’s The Pilgrim’s Progress. He and many others grounded me in the word of God, which has kept me through many years. But sadly as Jesus said, even the elect can be led astray (Mark 13:22). I was led astray. Though my own pride and my besetting sins I lost my first marriage by allowing a man I met to introduce me to the doctrine of demons. During that period of time I was filled with the Holy Ghost through pentecostal Christians who knew the word of God and the power of God. But he devil himself is very subtle and as the word says comes to us an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11: 14). This resulted in my being in the wilderness for approximately seven years. I still loved God, I still loved my Lord Jesus, but my life was a mess. I went to Bible college. I graduated. I pioneered a few churches. But I was led astray by false doctrine. I listened to such teachers as Kenneth Copeland, Jesse Duplantis, Morris Cerullo, Joyce Meyer and Creflo Dollar. In short, I became a prosperity preacher. I was part of a large ministry in the West Midlands, but unfortunately, my brothers and sisters, I was chasing after wealth, power, position and adoration from my fellow brothers and sisters. But our Father is so gracious; I did not get what I deserved. It was a time of tremendous growth and in spite of my disobedience and at times complete rebellion God blessed me mightily. I believed at the time that what I was doing was pleasing to God, but sadly it was not.

So I urge you my brothers and sisters to check the word of God, read it for yourself and make up your mind about these megachurches and prosperity preachers, as I have learned that there is only one true gospel and it does not say you or I should be rich or powerful; it does not promise us a new house, cars or lands; it tells us to go and to make disciples of all nations.

And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28: 18-20.

The message is to go, preach, teach and make disciples. This is the purpose of the church of Jesus Christ. No matter what denomination or grouping you belong to, go, preach, teach and make disciples of all people.

I believe with what is happening around the world and the fulfilment of much prophetic scripture that the Lord is very close. Most churches today sadly have become entertainment centres and people seem to be spending more time looking after the needs of those inside the church than what Jesus commanded them to do, to go and reach the lost. It is almost as if the leaders in the church have forgotten that the reason we exist is to reach as many as we can and bring them to the foot of the cross. When was the last time you saw anybody saved, healed or filled with the Spirit or your pastor teach on the second coming of Christ, which many of us believe is imminent? The upshot of this is you will not be judged on how many times you went to a church meeting, Bible study, conference or Christian concert; you will be judged on your fruit. So what fruit will you take with you when the trumpet is sounded and Jesus calls us?

Would You Take a Bullet for Jesus?

We as the body of Christ are in the most dangerous time of church history. Where are the great leaders? Where are the inspirational women and men of God? Many of you may have heard of David Wilkerson. David was a mighty man of God. David came to prominence in the 1950s and 1960s when he met a young man called Nicky Cruz who was a leader of one of the most notorious gangs in New York. If you know the testimony or you have read the book The Cross and the Switchblade, you will have seen that David was prepared to die for Christ.

I once asked a church that I was ministering in, would you take a bullet for Jesus? Unfortunately many today would not. Jesus tells us very clearly in Mark 8:35, “Whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.” Even the Apostle Paul says in Scripture that he was poured out as drink offering. Many of the disciples were executed for the sake of the gospel.

Sadly many have accepted a candy-coated gospel. We do not hear much today about the second coming of Christ. We have churchmen who are saying this will never happen. We have churchmen who are denying the resurrection, the virgin birth. We have prosperity teachers teaching that all God wants you to do is to get rich. But there are still some of us who believe we should be warning the people of this world that God is a God of love, He is a God of mercy, but He is also a God of justice, and those who reject His Son the Lord Jesus Christ will spend eternity in the fires of hell. It is time for the church to wake up and for the true believers to preach the truth again.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practising evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.” (John 3: 16-21)

So if you want to argue with anyone then your argument is with God and not with us.

Much of the church today has become social clubs, entertainment centres and sadly an irrelevance to the world we live in. I myself long for a true revival and restoration of our nation and world before the great and terrible day of the Lord’s return. If you know and love the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord, Saviour and God, then one day you will hear these words: “Well done, good and faithful servant, enter into your rest.” If you are a deceiver, a false prophet, then you will hear these words: “Get behind me, you workers of iniquity, I knew you not.” Sadly, you will with “the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars” be thrown into “the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death” (Revelation 21: 8) and there will be no reprieve. But the good news is, if you repent, turn from your sin and believe that Jesus Christ was raised from the dead (Romans 10: 9), you will hear those words, “Well done” and then enter eternal bliss.

What goes in must come out

I have been challenged this morning by the Lord. As many of you know, I am not religious. I am a man of faith and I would believe I walk in grace. But I have found myself recently being challenged by what I watch and what I read. It has been said that the eyes are the windows to the soul and what goes in must come out. Our ears are a doorway to the soul. Again what goes in must come out. We put food in our mouths and it has been said, what we eat we become. So if our ears are the doorway and our eyes are the window of the soul it is clear to me what goes in has to come out. So when we are watching East Enders, Coronation Street, reality shows, is that wholesome, is it pleasing? The word of God says, Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honourable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good repute, if there is any excellence and if anything worthy of praise, dwell on these things (Philippians 4: 8). So do not take my word for it, read your own Bibles.

I believe this is the problem with most of the established church. I myself was caught up in a lie for about seven years as I misinterpreted Scripture and believed I could do as I liked and there were no consequences, as my sins were forgiven, past, present and future. I could watch what I wanted, do what I wanted and there were no consequences. That was my mistake, not that of those who taught me, but my interpretation of what I believed was extended grace. The Bible says it is a bad thing when we deceive ourselves. The consequences of this were I ended up in the wilderness for a long time. The good news is I am out of the wilderness now and I for one would never want to go back into that deception.

I have been challenged by the Lord about that little screen in the corner of our house and I believe it is now a time when all Christians need to make a stand and cancel their TV licences with the BBC. I myself have challenged the BBC and I have found out that whether you watch the BBC or not you are paying for their anti-Christ, LGBT agenda. What perverted, degenerate producer came up with the title ‘Gay Britannia’? I think this is an insult to Queen Victoria and all the God-fearing people that lived before us. I suggest this is not the time to be passive but to be proactive and write to your MP and the Director General Lord Hall. Do not write to the complaints department. Write to Lord Hall and bombard him with your disgust. Or make a bolder stand and cancel your TV licence. There will be outcries from your children, but you are responsible for your children, what they watch, what they do, and it is your responsibility to bring them up in the nurture and the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. When they are old enough they can make their own decisions.

Unfortunately we as a Christian nation have compromised and, as somebody once said, you do not have to become an ape to win apes. This society is trying to rewrite the Bible. We are the people with the truth and the world is the one with the lie and the father of lies, the devil. Stand up, stand up for Jesus and follow the cross.

If you agree with us, contact us. If you disagree, we would still like to hear from you. As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.

Whatsoever Things Are Lovely and Honest…

Passchendaele New British CemeteryThe world has just remembered Passchendaele and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge honoured our nation for the loss or wounding of about 275,000 allied troops in the mud and the squalor of Passchendaele. What were they fighting for? Freedom and democracy.

I believe we are moving into a time when many of these freedoms will be taken away from us and I believe this is the time when the church of Jesus Christ should rise up.

There is a left-wing, LGBT agenda, which unfortunately if you are TV licence payer you are paying for every time you pay your TV licence.

I do not know if you are like me, but I am appalled at the left-wing agenda that the BBC seem to be promoting. It is our duty as Christians to stand up for truth so I would urge you to pick up a pen and paper and write to your MP, the Prime Minister and the Director General of the BBC, Lord Hall. If you can live without a TV, the ultimate thing you can do is disconnect your television, which much of today seems to be anti-Christ promoting values that the BBC was never set up to do. Their founders on their own statue of a sower which can be found in Broadcasting House stated clearly,

Inscription

This temple of the arts and muses is dedicated to Almighty God by the first Governors in the year of our Lord 1931, John Reith being Director-General. And they pray that good seed sown may bring forth good harvest, and that all things foul or hostile to peace may be banished thence, and that the people inclining their ear to whatsoever things are lovely and honest, whatsoever things are of good report, may tread the path of virtue and wisdom.

So it would be clear to me the founders of the BBC believed in the Bible. The present Director General it is very clear by the types of programmes he is sanctioning does not hold any of these values that the founders believed in, which are much of the values of the Bible and God’s word.

So now is not the time to procrastinate. It is time to make your voice heard. Share this with your brothers and sisters in church, as one letter to an MP or the BBC is equivalent to a thousand. We can make a difference if we stand up and are counted. There is an old saying, evil increases because men and women do nothing. If you agree with me, let me know. If you disagree , also let us know.

May God bless us as we all stand up for truth and justice in our nation.
