The Clock is Ticking

The clock is ticking, my brothers and sisters.

This morning I was reading Hebrews 11 with my colleague.

And what more shall I say? For time will fail me if I tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets, who by faith conquered kingdoms, performed acts of righteousness, obtained promises, shut the mouths of lions, quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, from weakness were made strong, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight. Women received back their dead by resurrection; and others were tortured, not accepting their release, so that they might obtain a better resurrection; and others experienced mockings and scourgings, yes, also chains and imprisonment. They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were tempted, they were put to death with the sword; they went about in sheepskins, in goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, ill-treated (men of whom the world was not worthy), wandering in deserts and mountains and caves and holes in the ground. And all these, having gained approval through their faith, did not receive what was promised, because God had provided something better for us, so that apart from us they would not be made perfect. (Hebrews 11: 32-40)

So if this happened to the apostles and the early church, why should we as believers be surprised at the curtailing of our freedoms? I always believed there was freedom of speech in the United Kingdom, but I am now getting to the the point where I believe we are now living in an Orwellian society. If you are a Christian or white Caucasian you have no rights. It is quite acceptable for other faith groups and non-Christians to profane the name of Jesus and the Holy Bible, but if you were to burn a Koran, as one lady did quite recently, you would be imprisoned. As street preachers we have to be very careful what we say otherwise we come face to face with the rule of law. We have seen the nonsense in Northern Ireland with Ashers Baking Company if we refuse to do things through conscience.

Jesus Himself said in Matthew 24: 12,

“Because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold.”

and in Matthew 24: 37-39,

“For the coming of the Son of Man will be just like the days of Noah. For as in those days before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and they did not understand until the flood came and took them all away; so will the coming of the Son of Man be.”

For this reason we are seeing much of this today in our so-called civilised society: the push of the left wing for freedoms for feminists, LGBT and other groups has pushed the balance of our society away from truth. We now call evil good and good evil. We have a problem where if we speak out against certain groups we are called racist. Our nation is in chaos. Our politicians have lost the plot. We are overrun by illegal immigrants and economic migrants.

If you are a true believer in Jesus Christ I believe the time will come one day that they will even make it illegal for us to say that Jesus Christ is the only way to God. We see around the world the attacks on Israel and the Arab nations preparing for war. Many of the signs that have been prophesied have come to pass.

My brothers and sisters, we are running out of time. I believe it is the time for the British church to get down on its knees, do away with its church politics and get back to the Bible. I agree with Don Francisco’s song: I do not care how big your church’s steeple is if it’s sitting on a cemetery. I don’t care if your pastor’s super-powered and your programme’s always new.

Are there others out there that feel the way I do? I am not saying like Elijah that I am the only one, as I know in my heart there are many who sit in congregations every week who feel the same as I do. If you feel the same way and want to put out fires again, see souls saved and see a true restoration and revival in our nation I should love to hear from you. Please contact me as I believe we need another spiritual revolution as in John Wesley’s day and I should love to pray with you.

Jesus Weeps Over His Church

We are living in very strange times. Jesus warned us in the last days there would be many false prophets. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth and there is no deviance in Him.

My Christian background was brethren. I was in the brethren church for seven years of my Christian life. I received the finest teaching from the finest teachers and I was privileged to sit under great men of God like Lance Pibworth the 20th century John Bunyan, Professor Verna Wright of Leeds University, Dr Knight from Wrexham, Roger Carswell from Leeds, my own pastor, who is now very elderly, Pastor Paul Brown from Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, but I thank God for these godly people whose instruction has kept me for many years, but even with after being taught by these people I still walked into error and spent between seven and eight years in false doctrine listening to false prophets.

One of my pastors once told me there is an element of truth in everything. The problem is we need to be aware of the error which leads us down the wide path to destruction. My dear old mum once said, all that glitters is not gold. As a minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ I am saddened by what I see in the west: men and women chasing after power and adoration and some of them absolutely dishonest; these snake oil salesmen from America; TV evangelists; people denying the Godhead, teaching that Jesus was just a man like any other man and received the baptism of the Holy Spirit at the Jordan; others saying that Jesus went into hell, took on demonic properties, suffered as we would suffer in hell, then was raised on the third day, when we know He said on the cross, “τετέλεσται—tetelestai—it is finished!”

My brothers and sisters, whether you believe this or not it matters not to me. Jesus suffered hell on the cross when there was darkness over the earth from the sixth hour to the ninth hour. God punished His own Son for you and for me. No human being saw the pain that my Saviour suffered on the cross, so how these charlatans can say these awful things I do not understand. If Jesus was not very God and He was not very man then we are all condemned to hell and there is no heaven; there is just hell waiting for all of us.

Why have we become so selfish? It is not about you. It is not about what you can get, a bigger house, bigger car, a better education; it is about the countless souls that will be cast into the lake of fire because the church does not care. Where has the holiness gone? Our godly women go to church dressed as harlots. What is wrong with beauty? The church looks no different from the world we live in. it has lost its godliness. We cry for revival but much of it is self-centred. Our Christian TV and radio stations pump out more and more lies.

I believe the Lord is calling the nation to repentance or we shall get what we deserve. David wrote the wonderful psalm: “Search me, O God, and see if there is any wickedness in me.” We have ministers denying the truth, accepting gay marriage, allowing our young to fornicate. I am not into religion, I am into holiness and I write this with tears in my eyes. Jesus weeps over His church. We have leaders who deny that Jesus rose from the dead bodily. We have selfish people in the church who only look after their own interests and not the interests of others. We have accepted a false gospel. We have ministers visualising cars and houses, which is no more than Buddhism, new-age teaching, predictions which is nothing more than witchcraft in the church.

Where are the spiritual fathers who will call the church back to what it should be? I thank God for people like Gino Jennings in the USA, Charles Lawson and many of our great leaders such as David Wilkerson who have gone. We have young, puffed-up ministers such as Todd White, Todd Bentley and Steve Chalke to name a few, who are nothing more than false prophets. Where are the spiritual fathers who will speak up for the truth, I wonder. Are we a nation of orphans and as Jesus said, “Will I faith on the earth?” Not word and faith, name-it, claim-it, grab-it ministries, but holy, humble, righteous men of God? Where are you? Are you like Adam, hiding?

If you feel the same as I do, broken-hearted, today, share it with others as the church was never meant to serve itself, it was called to serve others. I know there are many out there like me who feel as I do that it is time we challenged those who are not following the true and living gospel as the apostle Paul did, as the apostles did, and as many in foreign countries who are under persecution are. I plead for my nation. We are at the time, my brothers and sisters, that we got back in the battle. Forgive me if I am speaking to those who are already in the battle. You know who you are. But now is the time to pray as we have never prayed before, or billions of souls will be lost.

God bless you.

Final Warning to the Church

I greet you in the only name above heaven and earth, the Lord Jesus Christ.

Just recently, the Lord has directed me to Turning Point by Dr David Jeremiah. The month of May, he has being doing an amazing series which has blessed us mightily. We are seeing these amazing events around the world which Jesus spoke about: wars and rumours of wars, mighty fires in California, earthquakes, volcanoes, and the list goes on. The Bible says these are the birth-pangs before the end. I myself am spending a lot of time in Revelation, 1 Thessalonians 4: 15-18 and 1 Corinthians 15: 51-52.

Sadly much of the church is asleep. Pope Francis has just made a statement that Protestantism is dead and there is only one holy, catholic church. He is having major meetings with major pentecostal leaders from around the world, faith groups and the faith teachers such as Kenneth Copeland, Joyce Meyer and their entourage, which David Wilkerson spoke about, Charles Lawson is still speaking about. Many of these megachurch leaders such as Joel Osteen have kissed the ring of the Pope. Do they understand by kissing the ring they are bowing to his authority and denying the death of the martyrs from the reformation, many of which like Wycliffe and many that can be found in Foxe’s Book of Martyrs died in vain?

My brothers and sisters, we are entering into a time of major heresy when Joel Osteen can say all roads lead to God, Oprah Winfrey and Gloria Copeland state clearly that Jesus was just a man that was touched by the Holy Spirit in the Jordan. It is time that the big pentecostal movements such as the Assemblies of God and Elim, the Bible colleges of this nation and America and the TV channels such as the God Channel, Revelation TV and United Christian Broadcasters came out against these people. Where are the men of God that once told the truth? Why are they not speaking out? People like Donald Gee, Eddie Durham, George Jeffreys, Stephen Jeffreys and the founders of the Assemblies of God must be looking down from heaven and wondering what on earth is going on. The Bible says, wake up you sleepers. Sadly most of the church in the United Kingdom, the United States and the West are fast asleep and leading their congregations down a broad road. The Bible says,

“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.

“Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves. You will know them by their fruits. Grapes are not gathered from thorn bushes nor figs from thistles, are they? So every good tree bears good fruit, but the bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot produce bad fruit, nor can a bad tree produce good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. So then, you will know them by their fruits.

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father who is in heaven will enter. Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you who practise lawlessness.’”

Matthew 7: 23-33

So if you support these ministries you are enabling them to lead many astray and there could be a judgment for you too. We all know that at the end times there will be two judgments: one for believers, and whatever your theological stance is you can work that our for yourself, and the great white throne for those who reject God’s offer of full salvation and God’s gift of grace.

So, my brothers and sisters, it is time to speak up, warn our brothers and sisters of the heresy that is in the church, even though you will not be popular, but my understanding of the gospel is that the apostles were not popular. Whenever the church advances it is never popular. When it gets comfortable and sups with the devil, Lucifer leaves it alone. When you speak out for Christ you will be attacked, but as Paul said, great is your reward in heaven.

If you agree with my statements please add your comments. If you do not agree, still add your comments. But I suggest you go before the Lord, get your house in order, as the Lord is coming soon and it will be too late for those that you know and your loved ones. It is our duty to witness to them whoever they are or wherever they are. I for one will be a watchman looking for the master’s return.

God bless you.

Warning Before He Comes – Get Your House in Order

“Beware of the false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly are ravenous wolves.” Matthew 7: 15.

For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths. 2 Timothy 4: 3-4.

Dear Readers,

I have been a Christian for over 36 years. I was saved in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, UK, in a free evangelical church. I went from there to Leek in Staffordshire, to an old Baptist Union church. I believe that in those formative years as a Christian I received the finest teaching from the word of God that a young Christian could ever receive. I was grounded in the word of God for my first seven years as a Christian. But there was a problem. I did not know about the gifts of the Holy Spirit. I became very legalistic and sadly I was a hypocrite. I was, as CS Lewis once said, a Sunday angel but a Monday devil. I faced many conflicts in those years as I wanted to serve the Lord with all my heart but I could not. My pastor, who was a very godly man, when he baptised me gave me these verses:

Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who has endured such hostility by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart. Hebrews 12: 1-3.

What a wise man. He saw this tramp that came off the street. He brought me to the foot of the cross by using a wonderful little book, John Bunyan’s The Pilgrim’s Progress. He and many others grounded me in the word of God, which has kept me through many years. But sadly as Jesus said, even the elect can be led astray (Mark 13:22). I was led astray. Though my own pride and my besetting sins I lost my first marriage by allowing a man I met to introduce me to the doctrine of demons. During that period of time I was filled with the Holy Ghost through pentecostal Christians who knew the word of God and the power of God. But he devil himself is very subtle and as the word says comes to us an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11: 14). This resulted in my being in the wilderness for approximately seven years. I still loved God, I still loved my Lord Jesus, but my life was a mess. I went to Bible college. I graduated. I pioneered a few churches. But I was led astray by false doctrine. I listened to such teachers as Kenneth Copeland, Jesse Duplantis, Morris Cerullo, Joyce Meyer and Creflo Dollar. In short, I became a prosperity preacher. I was part of a large ministry in the West Midlands, but unfortunately, my brothers and sisters, I was chasing after wealth, power, position and adoration from my fellow brothers and sisters. But our Father is so gracious; I did not get what I deserved. It was a time of tremendous growth and in spite of my disobedience and at times complete rebellion God blessed me mightily. I believed at the time that what I was doing was pleasing to God, but sadly it was not.

So I urge you my brothers and sisters to check the word of God, read it for yourself and make up your mind about these megachurches and prosperity preachers, as I have learned that there is only one true gospel and it does not say you or I should be rich or powerful; it does not promise us a new house, cars or lands; it tells us to go and to make disciples of all nations.

And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Matthew 28: 18-20.

The message is to go, preach, teach and make disciples. This is the purpose of the church of Jesus Christ. No matter what denomination or grouping you belong to, go, preach, teach and make disciples of all people.

I believe with what is happening around the world and the fulfilment of much prophetic scripture that the Lord is very close. Most churches today sadly have become entertainment centres and people seem to be spending more time looking after the needs of those inside the church than what Jesus commanded them to do, to go and reach the lost. It is almost as if the leaders in the church have forgotten that the reason we exist is to reach as many as we can and bring them to the foot of the cross. When was the last time you saw anybody saved, healed or filled with the Spirit or your pastor teach on the second coming of Christ, which many of us believe is imminent? The upshot of this is you will not be judged on how many times you went to a church meeting, Bible study, conference or Christian concert; you will be judged on your fruit. So what fruit will you take with you when the trumpet is sounded and Jesus calls us?

Rev Ross Rennie

Would You Take a Bullet for Jesus?

We as the body of Christ are in the most dangerous time of church history. Where are the great leaders? Where are the inspirational women and men of God? Many of you may have heard of David Wilkerson. David was a mighty man of God. David came to prominence in the 1950s and 1960s when he met a young man called Nicky Cruz who was a leader of one of the most notorious gangs in New York. If you know the testimony or you have read the book The Cross and the Switchblade, you will have seen that David was prepared to die for Christ.

I once asked a church that I was ministering in, would you take a bullet for Jesus? Unfortunately many today would not. Jesus tells us very clearly in Mark 8:35, “Whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it.” Even the Apostle Paul says in Scripture that he was poured out as drink offering. Many of the disciples were executed for the sake of the gospel.

Sadly many have accepted a candy-coated gospel. We do not hear much today about the second coming of Christ. We have churchmen who are saying this will never happen. We have churchmen who are denying the resurrection, the virgin birth. We have prosperity teachers teaching that all God wants you to do is to get rich. But there are still some of us who believe we should be warning the people of this world that God is a God of love, He is a God of mercy, but He is also a God of justice, and those who reject His Son the Lord Jesus Christ will spend eternity in the fires of hell. It is time for the church to wake up and for the true believers to preach the truth again.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

“He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For everyone practising evil hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his deeds should be exposed. But he who does the truth comes to the light, that his deeds may be clearly seen, that they have been done in God.” (John 3: 16-21)

So if you want to argue with anyone then your argument is with God and not with us.

Much of the church today has become social clubs, entertainment centres and sadly an irrelevance to the world we live in. I myself long for a true revival and restoration of our nation and world before the great and terrible day of the Lord’s return. If you know and love the Lord Jesus Christ as your Lord, Saviour and God, then one day you will hear these words: “Well done, good and faithful servant, enter into your rest.” If you are a deceiver, a false prophet, then you will hear these words: “Get behind me, you workers of iniquity, I knew you not.” Sadly, you will with “the cowardly and unbelieving and abominable and murderers and immoral persons and sorcerers and idolaters and all liars” be thrown into “the lake that burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death” (Revelation 21: 8) and there will be no reprieve. But the good news is, if you repent, turn from your sin and believe that Jesus Christ was raised from the dead (Romans 10: 9), you will hear those words, “Well done” and then enter eternal bliss.
