Stand or Run?

Since 23 June, when I believe that God spoke about the destiny of the United Kingdom regarding Brexit, and on the night of the vote the shock and horror that went into the liberal left whose aims and objectives are totally anti-Christ, we have seen the twists and turns of the House of Lords and those with vested interests who really do not care about the British public or the wellbeing of this nation. The term for them is fat cats. These fat cats just want to get more and more and more wealth. I would be as strong to stay their father is the devil and we know what a liar and deceiver he is.

So we sit at the dawn of what I believe to be a new future for the United Kingdom. I also believe this is God giving our nation a last chance to redeem ourselves, owing to the fact that the spiritual leaders of this country did not stand up against the redefining of marriage. Their wimpish nature was to sign petitions at the back of their church buildings. We have the Archbishop of Canterbury now saying that if he is forced to marry a man and a man or a woman and a woman he will capitulate. God help us when we have leaders such as this. We have investigations going on in the world with the televangelists, who in my own personal opinion are a bunch of charlatans, and I am surprised that so many believers are mesmerised by these deceivers.My only consolation is when the Lord returns we shall all know the truth. Jesus our Lord Himself said,

There are also many other verses in the word of God that state clearly about unfaithful servants. For example, read Matthew 24: 46-51 and Matthew 25: 1-13.

So it is very clear that we as leaders in the body of Christ must be very careful how we handle the word of God. I remember at Keswick 1984 the then Bishop of Chester Michael Baughen said, “The word of God is like a fire. Used correctly it brings life. Used incorrectly it burns.” I never forgot those words from such a wise bishop.

I am just glad that when the great and terrible day of the Lord comes and the dead are judged (Revelation 20: 11-15) and believers are judged (1 Corinthians 3: 10-15) that it is God who judges and not us. All I want to hear at the end of my life are the words of my Saviour, “Well done, good and faithful servant, enter into your rest.” I hope like me you will hear the same words and not be tossed about by every wind of doctrine or the schemes of crafty men, as the apostle Paul once said.

Our main purpose on this earth is to lead as many as we can to the feet of Jesus our Lord and Savour. The decision they make is between them and the Lord. But I believe it is now time for true, Spirit-filled, Spirit-led Christians wherever they are in the world to stand up and be counted. We are the head, not the tail, and if we stand and allow injustices to go on around us we are as guilty as those who pass such laws. When I look back through history at Foxe’s Book of Martyrs and other writings, I see men and women of true faith who served the Lord in many parts of the world as missionaries even unto death.

What will you do for Jesus, stand or run? The choice is yours.

This Must Be Read: Beware of the False ‘Gospel’

I am writing today with a heavy heart as there is a heresy that is finding its way around the world and it is the prosperity ‘gospel’. I am saddened to find out that someone who has been very important to my own theology is being mixed up with the doctrine of demons, which we are warned in many parts of Paul’s writings to stamp out whenever we see it.

You may have been exposed to such people as Kenneth Copeland, Jesse Duplantis, Creflo Dollar, TD Jaques, Larry Lea, Trimble, Joyce Meyer, Joel Osteen, Benny Hinn, Trinity Broadcasting Network and this bunch of greedy TV evangelists who I would be bold enough to say are a satanic group. The Bible says out of a good tree comes good fruit and out of a bad tree comes bad fruit.

If you check the origin and the root of this you will find it goes back to a man called Robert Schuller, who is connected with the author of The Power of Positive Thinking. Such men as Kenneth Hagin took their original teaching from a man called Kemp. A famous book that I have on my bookshelf The Invisible Man was where Kenneth Hagin was influenced with the whole faith movement.

I was mixed up with this movement for several years and at one time I idolised and followed a man who taught these erroneous doctrines, not the Man Christ Jesus. By the way, these faith teachers say that when Jesus was born on the earth He was just a man and when He was in the River Jordan He was filled with the Holy Spirit. This is blasphemy, as if Jesus was not very man and very God He could not have died for us. He had to be the spotless Lamb of God.

Over the Christmas period and New Year the Holy Spirit has challenged me. He even took me to a book that I have always had problems with written by Rick Warren and is used by most megachurches around the world. To say the body of Christ in the west is in trouble would be an understatement, as many of our leaders are barricaded behind their church doors or are part of this insidious megachurch movement. Jesus said very clearly we can only serve one master, God or mammon. I hope like me you choose God. I have also been looking at the scripture recently Matthew 7: 13-14 “Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it. For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are few who find it.” I am disturbed when I hear people preaching that the wide road is just another road and that it is up to you which road you want to go through, when scripture is clear: God’s way is the tough way. John Bunyan knew this and many of the reformers in Great Britain centuries ago.

I am glad that even though I rose to great heights and fell to the ground financially, I will never accept this garbage as it is another gospel, and as it tells us in Galatians 1: 8, “But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed!” Also 2 Timothy 3:1-5 “But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without self-control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of godliness, although they have denied its power; avoid such men as these.”

The Bible says in the last days (Matthew 24: 24) “For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect.” I am just ashamed that for many years I believed this rubbish, but now the Lord has opened my eyes and has shown me there is only one way – His way – to seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.

Out of Ashes Ministries

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

One thing I have learned in the kingdom is the kingdom belongs to the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the one who did it all. He paid the price for our sins, past, present and future. He is the one who is making extraordinary men and women who will go with the gospel of Jesus Christ baptising in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit and making disciples of all men.

It was my privilege in 1993 to meet a very extraordinary young man who survived a serious fire when he was one year old. Peter Gladwin is his name and I have not seen him since I left Elim Bible College in 1994. This weekend I had the privilege of a divine appointment again with my dear friend.

I want to tell you a story. Many of us never dreamed we would ever go to Bible college. Peter did not and neither did I. To say we were the biggest bunch of misfits that the kingdom has ever seen would be an understatement. We went to Bible college believing we were going to be pastors of great churches but when we left Bible college Peter was sent back to work in a nursing home and I was sent back to be a salesman. Why this happens we do not know, but Peter now has been given a vision for the world to look after the lost, the lonely, the downcast and the forgotten. He has ministered in many parts of the world such as Poland, India, France, etc. He is available to speak in churches all over the country and all over the world. His book Out of the Ashes is a must-read. It is a story about a man with his life in ruins through drink, drugs and gambling, who stood on a bridge one day contemplating his death but instead of jumping he decided to go to his mother’s flat on the fifth floor of a tower block. His mother then phoned his sister who had become a Christian a few weeks earlier because of a boy who walked into her butcher’s shop in Bradford, England, with a poster for a meeting. God’s Amazing Miracle In My Life

Some of you know that a while back I moved to Chester. While here God started to speak to me about setting up a house of prayer. Unfortunately my neighbour took umbrage at this and with the help of the authorities put paid to people coming and praying. But we know that no weapon that is fashioned against us can stand. Out of wisdom the Holy Spirit revealed to me the best action was to be still and know that He (the Father) was God. The situation here became quite intense even to the point where the Cheshire police rang my landlord one day and nearly had me evicted. But God prevailed and what the devil purposed for evil God turned for good, as He did with Joseph, as I totally believe that nothing can happen to me unless my Father allows it, because I believe in the total sovereignty of the Almighty God over my life.

Unfortunately we do have an enemy and sometimes he strikes when we are active for the Lord. On 14 July 2015 I went to work as I do most days as a sales and marketing manager, as I believe that Paul was a tentmaker and I have always been in some form of work even after I left Bible college. I had a phone call from a sergeant in the Cheshire police and I lost my peace and became very distraught. I got as far as Ashby-de-la-Zouch in Leicestershire. I phoned my friend in Penzance but owing to the stress I was in a very dark place. I then drove on but I felt very sick and I felt I was going to crash the car, so I pulled into a lay-by not realising I was having a mini-stroke. I sat in the lay-by and forgot who I was. I had no recollection of what I was doing. But thank God for mobile phones. I called my friends and my friend Austin came to rescue me. I was rushed into hospital, but on the way, as my friend Austin will testify, I was dying. The amazing thing was I was at peace. I could hear angels and I could see heaven’s doors opening. To be honest I was looking forward to going home to be with my Lord whom I have served for the past 36 years. I cannot say that I have been the best Christian that has ever lived, as like King David I have made many mistakes. But I know this: the Lord loves me and I was going home.

As I lay in the car and my friend Austin was punching me in the leg jokingly telling me not to die in his car, the Lord said to me, “Ross, you have run a good race. You can come home if you want to, but I do want you to go back as there is more for you to do.”

At that point I said to the Lord, “But I don’t want to go back. They hate me.”

He said, “They hated Me too, but will you go back for Me?”

I said, “Yes, Lord.” Then I was on the road to recovery.

I am not writing any of this to bring any glory to myself as all the glory belongs to God. Austin finally got me to hospital where I started to recover, and the amazing miracle which astounded even the doctors at Derby Royal Hospital was that I walked out of that hospital. Owing to the laws of the land I was not allowed to drive so Austin and his mother looked after me and made sure that I got back home to Chester. In a weakened state but still alive by the miracle of God I contacted my friend in Penzance and I went away for a time of rest and recuperation.

I believe that a book by Charles Capps, God’s Creative Power for Healing, was very important in my restoration, as I read this book over myself three times day for nearly six weeks. During that six weeks God told me that I was going to China. Now I have been to China, I have seen Beijing, I have gone to a city called Yinchuan in northern China and I have had the privilege of walking in the footsteps of a great lady, Gladys Aylward, just touching the tip of what she did all those years ago in China.

I share this with all you my brothers and sisters in Christ just to show what God can do and I hope as you read this it will bless you.

If you would like me to share this event in more detail with your church or group I would be pleased to come, as it says in Revelation 12: 11, they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and I love to give testimony to God and His power, as I believe there is nothing impossible with God.
