Battle for Britain: Brexit or Not?
400 years ago, this country faced a civil war. If you know your history, you will see the major person in this event of history is Oliver Cromwell. Much of the values and the things we all enjoy today were won by this man and the parliamentarians: the right to education and many of the good things we have experienced in this land. In his day, the conflict was between Charles I and Parliament. There was a statement that he made that stated clearly Parliament was sovereign by the will of the people and it was the people who decided the direction of the nation. We now have a situation where the Speaker, Mr John Bercow, has turned this on its head. We have a surrender bill which even Tony Benn, the father of Hilary Benn, would be appalled at.
On 31 October, if our Prime Minister is true to his word, this nation should be free. If you have read my previous articles you will see we have two choices as a Christian nation. If we end up back in the EU I believe prophetically many of our Christian values, which have been squandered away over many years, will be taken away for good. Our freedom of speech, our right to assembly and our right to preach the true gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ in our towns and cities. Many of us have seen over the past few years many street preachers arrested under Article 35, which was a law that was brought in to do with football hooligans, but the police and the judiciary have manipulated this law to trap those who wish to put their faith on the line and preach in our towns and cities across England.
So whenever the general election takes place, if you are a
When I and many of my generation voted in 1975, we voted for the Common Market. The House, prime ministers such as John Major and Tony Blair, have manipulated the will of the British people to draw us into a federal Europe. We are now seeing the gloves coming off. There is talk about a European army, which if these people get their way many of your children will be conscripted to, a European defence force and many other institutions which I believe are
So if you have not already done so, make your view known to your MP by writing, or when we do come to a general election if your MP is a remainer vote against him or her.
My only concern about all this is where are the Christian leaders? Are they, like the redefining of marriage, hiding behind their positions, their pay packets or their pulpits? I know that I am the last in this nation when it comes to ministers, but I for one am prepared to give my life for the true gospel of Jesus Christ. I will never give my life to the fake entertainment, backslapping, weak gospel that I see today. I long to see leaders stand up and be counted that I can be proud to follow. I see on the major Christian media that there is not even a debate on these subjects. Why? Are they running scared or just men-pleasers and not pleasing God? Please, ladies and gentlemen, get some backbone. Let us have a debate, as we are not just citizens of the United Kingdom but we are ultimately citizens of Christ’s kingdom.
If this offends you, then it is not me you are angry with but the Holy Spirit, as all through this Brexit debate I have waited upon the Lord and I have been led by the Holy Spirit to write these things, so if you disagree with me then comment below, as it is time the Christian church got more engaged as this affects you, your children, your church and your civil rights. I am a supporter of the Brexit Party and so are many of my colleagues as we believe ultimately in democracy and freedom. What do you believe in?
